April 26th (10am-5pm) & April 27th (12pm-5pm)

Winchester Center quilter, MaryPat Leger, has completed the work of art extolling the remarkable values of the Lower Farmington River and Salmon Brook.

Her inspiration brought together 26 quilt artists, some nationally recognized, some making their first landscape quilt. Together they created The Lower Farmington River & Salmon Brook Quilt Project, which portrays 20 locations along the Farmington River and 7 locations along Salmon Brook. The 40 foot long Farmington River portion of the quilt is complemented by a 15 foot long Salmon Brook portion that shows sites along both branches of the brook and the mainstem. Each quilter worked independently using her own creative expression to depict a specific location.

The quilt was supported with a grant and site information from the Lower Farmington River and Salmon Brook Wild & Scenic committee.
