Granby Public Library Celebrates Farmington River Wild & Scenic Designation

Twenty-five years ago, in 1994, a 14-mile stretch of the West Branch Farmington River from Goodwin Dam in Hartland to the Canton/New Hartford line became a federally-designated Wild & Scenic River!

As we celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the Upper Farmington River becoming a Wild & Scenic River – we have another victory – 1.1 miles in Canton were designated Wild & Scenic this year, making the Upper Farmington River designated area a total of 15.1 miles.

To celebrate these achievements for the Farmington River, the Farmington River Quilt will be on display at the Granby Public Library Center from October 1st to October 31st

Many thanks to Dan Bowler, chairman of the upper Farmington River’s Farmington River Coordinating Committee, for making arrangements for the quilts to be on display in various locations.
